Aim
To provide students with the knowledge and skills required to be able to adapt fitness instruction to accommodate adolescents providing an understanding of the the physiology and psychological issues they face and how they affect their ability to exercise.
Progression
Learners can also progress onto the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Award in Instructing Circuit Sessions
- Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling Sessions
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (ETM)
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Children)
- Level 3 Award In Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults
- Level 3 Award in Designing Pre and Post Natal Exercise Programmes
- Level 3 Award In Designing Exercise Programmes for Disabled Client
Entry Requirements
The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
There is an element of communication, (discussion, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basics skills in communication pitched at level 2.
